Day 3

Creative every day challenge Day 3

I finished my first painting. This is the one from the other day, I used what I had as a background and just played with the paint last night (day 2). Today, I added the words. I have been toying with the idea of incorporating words for awhile but I just had not started anything.

I am having a blast with this challenge and I am proud of myself for trying. Now I will have to start something tomorrow. I think that tomorrow I need to get my art journal going again. That way I can have some ideas on paper before I move to another project.

Days 1 and 2

I started this yesterday, the Creative Every Day Challenge 2011! I am pretty excited about it. I needed something creative to do and a way to keep me motivated. I think this will do it. Yesterday was my first day.

This is what I started on yesterday. It is the background for a painting that I have been wanting to do the past week or so. I will be adding to this in the next week and will post working photos of it.

This is something else that I worked on last night. My mother-in-law inlisted me to make 90 of these. They are beaded bible bookmarks. It is amazing how much better I feel since I have started being creative again.

Day 2

Benji and I played with playdough for a over an hour this morning. We had a blast!! I hope that he can see how fun it is to create things too!

How pretty, little girl is now SEVEN months old (last week, 1/17/2011). We are so proud of her and so grateful to God for allowing us the pleasure of being her parents. Looking forward to who she will become.

Creative Every Day Challenge

I am going to try something this year. I have been a little depressed lately. I am sure that some of it stems from being in the house ALL the time but there is part of my depression that stems from my lack of creative expression. I have been in school most of the last five years and I have been taking art classes every semester. I had time at school to create but since Kaiya was born I have only had ideas, there has never been enough time to implement. Well...that is going to change. I am starting today. Everyday I will do something creative weather I paint, sew, draw, do something creative with Benji or try a new recipe I will strive to be as creative as possible. I will also strive to post my creations on my blog...that may not happen everyday but I will work on it. (For more info click on the CED 2011 picture above)

I pray that you are all well.

Moving Home

We have been living away from home for the last 4 weeks. I can't beleive that it has been that long, it has gone by so fast. Honestly, it really wasn't too bad. The first week was hard and I remember crying a couple of times because we would not be able to spend Christmas at home with our family but God got us through it.

We have been busy getting the house cleaned up and ready (hopefully not in vain) for baby Kaiya. We had the air ducts cleaned, bleached EVERYTHING that could be bleached and did a major cleaning of the basement. We are now starting to pack things up here at Gus and Sandy's house so that we can get some of our stuff back home tonight, we don't want to move everything tomorrow. Chris' parents have been awesome over the past month and we have even learned a few things from them.

We are praying that baby Kaiya does fine at our house and has NO episodes of spitting up and that there is no mucus but if there are we will have to start looking at other options. We ask for prayers that that whatever was bothering Kaiya has been remediated but we are also asking for prayers that we will know when to draw the line and get out of there is that it the best thing for her.

Thank you for all the prayers!
